Advanced Translation Statistics (ATS)

What is Advanced Translation Statistics (ATS)?

Advanced Translation StatisticsAdvanced Translation Statistics is an Add-On which enables SAP customers to get the statistical information necessary for scoping for a system translation. The figures provided by ATS are essential for resource planning, scheduling and budgeting.
In addition to the features of the standard SE63 translation environment, ATS can also determine the number of internal repetitions, show the content of the source and the target languages, and export them.
Why is this information so essential for scoping? In translation projects, the number of internal repetitions is as important as the total number of untranslated and modified lines. Translation of 1,000 individual strings takes much more time than translating one string and then copying it 999 times. The content of the source and target languages can be used for glossary creation and for analyzing the type and quality of the original and translated texts.

Who can benefit from the Advanced Translation Statistics (ATS) tool?

Anyone who has to plan SAP system translation projects:

  • SAP customers who want to translate custom developments, customizing content or master data within the frame of a global roll-out project.
  • SAP development partners who want to extend the market for their Add-On products by adding new languages to their standard delivery.

What are the benefits of the Advanced Translation Statistics (ATS) tool?

ATS is ready to use – there is no need for any customization or administration. It offers the following advantages compared to standard statistics:

More specific categories

With its additional categories for translation statuses, ATS can also show whether a new or modified line has a Proposal Pool entry or not.

Internal repetitions

ATS provides information about the number of internal repetitions.

Displaying textual content

ATS users can get a broader perspective by analyzing the content of strings, the domain (e.g. finance, logistics, CRM) and quality of the original texts. The frequency of occurrence is also displayed for each string.

Glossary creation

ATS supports the creation of glossaries by enabling the download of source and, if available, target texts. These can then be imported and processed in the appropriate glossary tools (such as SDL Multiterm).

Easy to use

With ATS, the content and the figures of a single object, transport request, development class or translation work list can be analyzed by just a few clicks.
